A spirited 40-acre West Virginia mountainside homestead where art, food, nature & community come together in the rugged Allegheny Mountains

Welcome to Appalachia, where the mountains are steep and old, the people are diverse and often misunderstood, and American history runs deep and cuts deeper. Here is a place that is at once beautiful and indescribable.

It’s late summer 2019 and we’ve been busy with small batch production of honey, garlic, chicken, pork and lamb. Our homestead animals are eating apples now and they always sleep under the stars. Our Mountainside Honey, two years in the making, is painstakingly made by the famous “Ladies of Poe Run.” Please visit us at the Elkins Farmers Market (nearly) every Saturday from 8am til noon. Also, this winter beginning November 10th we’ll be at the Bridgeport Farmers Market the second Sunday every month.

Poe Run Craft & Provisions is a working homestead and a nonprofit center dedicated to good food and community empowerment.

Our organizational mission is to celebrate and reaffirm Appalachian folk arts, cultural heritage, resourcefulness and health & wellness in the common ground areas of art, food and nature through artist and community workshops, activities and gatherings that strengthen community bonds, personal resilience and workforce development.

We are Margaret and David, this has been our home since late 2017, after leaving Los Angeles and traveling the nation in our teardrop trailer. We consider ourselves stewards of this historically significant home and way of life
